Chaenomeles Plant 'Red Trail'

Chaenomeles, or ornamental quince, are spiny-stemmed deciduous shrubs with small serrated leaves. Their colourful flower clusters emerge just before the leaves and continue to bloom for several months from late winter until March and April followed in late summer by fragrant fruits which can be made into preserves or compotes. Chaenomeles sup. ‘Red Trail’ has cup-shaped bright red flowers centred with distinctive yellow anthers then, in late summer, speckled fruit.
