Maintain moist soils and humus rich soils are suggested for the best growth and moisture retention. One suggested planting methodology is to plant in baskets partially submerged in water at the edges of garden ponds and then bring indoors or to a protected environment for harsh climates. Or plant in marsh areas with exposure to full sun to partially shaded areas.
