Tulip 'Queen of Night'
Queen of Night is a famously dark Tulip. It will look amazing planted beside deep purple varieties such as Recreado, as this will bring out the complexity of its dark shade, or equally with a contrasting choice such as Alabaster to really highlight the dark tones. We recommend planting beside other single late tulip varieties, or choosing your favourites dark varieties and planting a statement border of dark, luxury colour. Choose a sunny location where possibly, and plant in well-drained, fertile soil.
Garden care: In September to December plant bulbs 15-20cm deep and 10-15cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 7-9 bulbs per 30cm sq. After flowering dead-head and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each week for the first month. Once the foliage has died down naturally lift the bulbs and store in a cool greenhouse.
