Tulip 'Purissima'
A stunning Fosteriana Tulip presenting giant white flowers flushed yellow at the center with the added bonus of being fragrant. Native to Central Asia, Fosteriana are a hybrid race also known as Emperor Tulips noticeable for their brilliant oriental colours and large flower heads, creating a startling effect wherever planted. They are very early flowering, first appearing late in March or early April so are real sign that spring is here, and are great naturalisers, coming back year after year.
Garden care: In September to December plant bulbs 15-20cm deep and 10-15cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 7-9 bulbs per 30cm sq. After flowering dead-head and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each week for the first month. Once the foliage has died down naturally lift the bulbs and store in a cool greenhouse.
