Sorbaria sorbifolia 'Sem' is a deciduous shrub with very attractive fern-like foliage, pink-flushed in spring then turning lime-green. Clusters of small creamy flowers appear in summer and the leaves turn vivid red in autumn, giving this useful shrub a very long season of interest. It has a tendency to spread by suckering so is best planted in informal beds where it has space to spread.
