Robinia 'Frisia'

If yellow is your favourite colour, the stunning Robinia 'Frisia' is the tree to plant in your garden. It is known for its beautiful clear yellow foliage that appears early in spring. The leaves turn to a lime yellow-green for the duration of the summer. As autumn approaches they become a magnificent orange-yellow. The False Acacia Frisia is a deciduous tree and the leaves fall in winter.

Robinia 'Frisia' trees are also enjoyed for their racemes of white pea-like fragrant flowers which appear in May and June and look spectacular against the vibrant foliage. After the leaves have fallen, dark brown seeds cover the branches adding additional interest.

This stunning medium sized ornamental tree will make a wonderful focal point in your garden. It grows to a height of 7m and a spread of 5m in a 20 year period. It is fully hardy and enjoys fertile, moist, well-drained soils but will also tolerate acid and chalky soils. Plant in a position where it is not exposed to strong winds.
