Ranunculus Mix is a specially selected Peony mix of densely packed blooms with long-lasting spring blooms. Flowerheads are double and semi-double and loaded with petals and a variety of colours incorporating rosy reds, creamy whites, golden yellows and pale purples into a delightful assortment.

Varieties of colour and beauty, Ranunculus Mix is a wonderful collection of some of the most beautiful flowers to plant in the garden for spring blooming. Gorgeous blooms on multitudes of stems stand out in the garden shining for attention. Plant in groups for amazing waves of mixed colours and use in beds, borders, containers or pots. Ideal as a cut flower for its staying power, Ranunculus blooms often last well over a week.

Ranunculus, better known as Buttercups and the ‘Rose of Spring’, are a group of perennial ornamental plants that have double and semi-double flowerheads that are packed with glossy petals. Golden colours of the Buttercup are rumoured to reflect a glow when held near the face of those who like butter. Traditional colours include a range of rose-like blooms with rosy reds, vibrant oranges, golden yellows and creamy whites. Ranunculus grow from a tuber-like structure called a corm.

Ranunculus have wonderful, long lasting bloom that can be grown in beds, borders, pots and containers and used for gorgeous, inexpensive cut flowers. Planting these blooms in groups will create wonderful blankets of blooms with many corms producing multiple stems, up to 2-3 dozen per corm.

Plant Ranunculus 5-8cm deep and 10-15cm apart in fertile, well-drained soils in full sun, can tolerate some shade. Before planting soak corms in water for 3-5 hours. autumn planting is suggested for the best blooms in the spring time. Spring planting often results in diminished size, quality and quantity of blooms. Ranunculus can also be planted in pots and containers as long as they are kept moist, with a preference for drier conditions

Ranunculus make for great cut flowers and bouquets because of their vigorous growing habits and can be repeatedly cut which in addition to providing beautiful cut flowers, will also encourage more flower production. After the blooming season, allow the foliage to die back naturally in order to store energy for the following season’s blooming.
