Prunus 'Taoyame'
A hardy variety of cherry tree, the prunus ‘Taoyame’ is a lovely deciduous tree with a more compact, rounded, spreading habit that makes it perfect for Spring or fall garden displays. Clusters of beautiful semi-double, pink-tinged white flowers appear in mid-Spring bearing many petals, giving them a ruffled, puffy look. The foliage is a bronze-red when young, turning to rich, deep green during the Summer before changing to vibrant Autumn yellows and oranges.
Grows well in moist, fertile, well-drained soils and is best kept in full or partial sun. Tolerant of most soils as well as heat, drought and humidity once established.
