Prunus 'Semiplena'
Prunus ‘Semiplena’ is a beautiful variety of the well-known species of cherry tree which are popular in Japan. These trees spread slender, wandering branches which carry lance-shaped, incised green leaves which serve as a nice contrast beneath the thick profusion of white flowers which bloom from the early Spring just after the cold of Winter, lasting throughout Spring before falling away. The foliage remains until the Autumn, where the leaves turn to vibrant tones of red and orange.
Grows well in any moist, well-drained soils. Keep in full or partial sunlight. Hardy and resistant to most weather. Summer pruning is advised to tailor growth or shape.
