Prunus 'Kursar'
Prunus 'Kursar' is a lovely small tree for spring and autumn interest. It shows a wonderful display of rich, deep pink flowers in late March before the arrival of the fresh coppery coloured leaves. The leaves turn to a mid-green colour in summer and then offer a breathtaking display of reds and golds in autumn. The flowers are very popular with bees and insects, attracting sound and movement into your living space.
This Flowering Cherry trees grows to small height of 3m and a spread of 3m in a 20 year period, making it ideal for smaller gardens or a dull corner where space is limited. It is great for urban gardens as it is pollution tolerant and tough. It will grow well in most conditions but very wet or shallow, chalky sites should be avoided. Plant in full sun to get the most out of the autumn colours.
