'Polka' Raspberry Plants

From Dhs. 148.00
  • A fantastic recent introduction from Poland!
  • They sure know their raspberries in Poland and have produced arguably the best raspberry variety on the planet: great taste, reliable, huge crops, easy to grow, long season - 'Polka' has it all.
  • Unlike some of the older primocane (autumn-fruiting) varieties, 'Polka' fruits reliably on this year's wood. That means you can expect a good crop in the year you plant it, unlike summer-fruiting (floricane) raspberries, which fruit on the previous year's growth.
  • Expect to see 2.5kg of large, juicy raspberries per plant in a good year, cropping from August right through to October.
  • Plant on a sunny spot in rows, with 50cm between canes and tie into supports as they grow. Can even be planted in a large pot (40cm+ in diameter).
  • Primocane (autumn-fruiting) variety. Primocane varieties fruit on the current year's growth. In February, cut back all the fruited canes to the ground. New canes will pop up during spring.
