Kiwi (Actinidia) Ken's Red
Developed to thrive in cooler climates, Kiwi Ken's Red is known for its hardiness and can withstand temperatures well below zero. It is a female variety and does require the company of a nearby male variety for it to produce its small, deliciously succulent and attractive fruit. Vigorous, with a twining habit, kiwi's are often grown purely for their attractive, large and lush, rounded leaves which provide a wonderfully tropical backdrop when grown up a trellis against a sunny fence or patio wall.
