Italian Alder Bare Root Hedge
Alnus cordata is commonly known as 'Italian Alder' and is an extremely popular UK native hedge tree that displays dark green leaves. This plant also has a wonderful display of yellow catkins that form on the tree and will form brown cones. These plants are excellent for very wet areas of soil in your garden.
Italian Alder prefers any type of soil even extremely wet conditions. Alnus grows at around 1-2 feet per year and will eventually get to 24+ metres in height if left alone. These trees can be pruned in order to keep them tidy.
