Cytisus 'Golden Tears' Patio Tree
Cytisus Golden Tears grows well in pots and containers and is perfect for brightening up patios, driveways, and terraces, as well as flanking entrances.
Also known as Broom, Cytisus is often grown as a garden shrub. However, trained into a patio tree shape, this weeping variety makes an excellent addition to any garden. Patio trees provide height and structure to an outdoor space, enhancing garden design and decorating areas of paving or decking.
This cultivar boasts small three-palmate, ovate leaves from spring to autumn. Throughout May and June the leaves are hidden by masses of small pea-like golden yellow flowers dripping from the branches. These nectar-rich blooms are a magnet for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
This patio tree is hardy in the UK, but pot-grown specimens may need some additional insulation to protect the roots from frost damage in winter. Cytisus Golden Tears thrives in well-draining soil and is happy in most soil types. Like all plants, pot-grown specimens do need to be watered more frequently than those planted in the ground. This potted tree tolerates partial shade but flourishes best placed in full sun.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
