The coffee plant is a great choice for a more unique and quirky house plant, and ticks all the boxes for the perfect indoor specimen with its ease of care, resilience and attractive looking long, deep green leaves.

You might wonder if you will actually be able to harvest coffee beans from your new Coffee plant; while it is possible, it will require good care in optimal conditions when grown indoors.

Once it matures, which takes a few years, it will bloom - but even with the best intentions the size of the plant dictates how many flowers will appear. You can hand pollinate the blossoms to help form the fruit.

Your Coffee Arabica plant will thrive in a position that benefits from indirect sun or partial shade, in a well-drained soil that is slightly acidic with a pH of 5.5 - 6.5. Water regularly - the soil should be moist to touch at all times, do not allow it to dry out completely. Avoid waterlogging, and remove any excess water from the plant saucer.
