Codiaeum 'Petra'

Codiaeum Petra is an attractive houseplant well known for it's colourful foliage. An evergreen shrub, this variety sports long oval shaped leaves that initially appear green, variegated with shades of lighter green and white, some of these leaves will then darken to red and as the plant matures will go darker still, giving off an extremely attractive multi-coloured effect. These plants will require a fair amount of watering, once the soil feels dry to the touch it's time to water it again, additionally as the plant is native to more humid environments, the leaves will require a light misting to keep them fresh.

Carefully consider the household location for this plant, it will be fine in full sun but if it can be accomodated in a more humid location like a conservatory or bathroom it will thrive, frequently moving the plant will cause it to drop it's leaves due to shock, but these will always come back if the plant is properly cared for.
