Boysenberry Fruit Plant
One of our favourites! The boysenberry plant (Rubus ursinus x Rubus idaeus) is a cross between loganberry, dewberry, raspberry, and blackberry plants. Its large purplish-black fruits have a lovely blackberry flavour, but the plants are thornless, so picking is easy.
Boysenberries thrive in full sun and prefer well-drained, fertile soil. They are easy to grow but benefit from a sturdy support system, such as a trellis or fence. Each fruit, grown on a trailing vine, can grow up to 3-4 cm (1-1.5 in) long. These rather unusual berries are excellent eaten fresh off the plant, but are also perfect in jams and puddings.
Our boysenberry plants come in 2ltr pots, giving you an older, more established plant with a bigger root ball than those offered in 9cm pots. The extra space gives the roots more room to grow - and bigger roots mean bigger, stronger plants, and more juicy berries.
Order your boysenberry plant today and start picking your own juicy home-grown berries. Explore our full selection of fruit plants to find more delicious additions to your garden.
